Generation Z, made up of those born between 1997 and 2012<\/strong>, represents 16% of the active candidates we manage at Eurofirms, with a high concentration in cities like Barcelona and Madrid. Eight out of ten are finding their first job in the service sector, reflecting a more digital, flexible and service-oriented view of work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Although the youth unemployment rate remains high (26.5%), in the last year, one in four registered contracts <\/strong>has been for people under 25<\/strong>, driving a 6.5% growth in registrations. Although they only represent 12% of the population, this increase reflects the growth of this generation within the country’s productive fabric.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 80% of contracts for people under 25<\/strong> in Spain are concentrated in the hospitality, retail, logistics and events sectors<\/strong>, where there has been a 4.5% increase during the period from June 2024 to May 2025. The sectors with the lowest presence are agriculture (7%) and construction (3%).<\/p>\n\n\n\n In terms of geographic presence, the provinces with the highest proportion of contracts are Madrid<\/strong> (15.5%) and Barcelona<\/strong> (12.9%), followed by Valencia (5.8%) and Seville (4.2%).<\/p>\n\n\n\n Generation Z reflects an educational gap<\/strong>. Only 29% of people between 20 and 24 years old have higher education.
