The Mediterranean Economic and Social Forum has established itself as a benchmark space where institutions, companies and experts analyse the major challenges of the economic and social environment. In this edition, held in Barcelona under the slogan \u201cA Sea of Commitments\u201d, the focus has been particularly on people, employment and talent. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this context, Eurofirms<\/a> actively participated as a driving force behind the forum, contributing to dialogue and knowledge sharing about the future of work and the challenges of the labour market in Spain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Within this framework, Anna Golsa, Global CEO of Eurofirms, participated in the panel discussion \u201cThe future of companies: talent, AI and productivity\u201d, which addressed some of the major challenges facing employment today, marked by talent acquisition and retention, technological transformation and evolving career expectations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Talent, AI and employment: key insights from the Mediterranean Forum<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

During the session, a key reality was addressed: the Spanish labor market is experiencing a paradox. On the one hand, it maintains high levels of unemployment; on the other, there are thousands of unfilled vacancies \u2014 more than 150,000 in Spain \u2014 which highlights a structural problem with of employability and the alignment between supply and demand. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This mismatch reflects a lack of alignment between training, available skills, worker expectations and the real needs of companies, making talent management a top priority in the current context.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adding to this situation is a crucial factor: the transformation of employment driven by artificial intelligence<\/a>. Automation and the evolution of roles are redefining the necessary skills, making it essential to invest in reskilling and upskilling professional to maintain their employability in the medium and long term. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another key point of discussion was the integration of young people into the labor market. Far from stereotypes, Generation Z presents diverse profiles, with expectations that combine professional development, stability, continuous learning and purpose. However, a gap persists between what companies offer and what young people consider a quality job. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reducing this mismatch involves acting on three main levers: improving guidance towards high-demand sectors, strengthening digital and AI-related skills, and redefining the employee value proposition to align it with current expectations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the same time, artificial intelligence is positioning itself as a key tool for improving productivity and decision-making in organisations. The challenge is not the technology itself, but in how companies integrate it to empower people and strengthen more efficient and strategic talent management. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, one of the most relevant messages from the panel was the need to understand talent management as a strategic business lever. Today, it\u2019s not just about filling vacancies, but about ensuring a good fit between people and company. When this fit is not achieved, the impact is direct on improving productivity, reducing turnover and decreasing absenteeism. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A context that requires companies to evolve towards a more strategic talent management approach, based on anticipation, data and continuous development of people.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
